Toimii is launching in 2026 — this site is an early preview.

Comparison

Toimii vs Contact Form 7

Contact Form 7 is free, mature, and widely installed. The trade-off: you own every plugin, spam, and upgrade decision, and you're tied to WordPress. Toimii is a paid, hosted alternative that drops onto any site (WordPress included) with one snippet, stores every submission in a dashboard, and bundles booking, NPS, and ordering in the same plan.

What Toimii is

Toimii is a hosted, embeddable contact tool that lives on your site as a small web component. You design the form in a visual editor, paste two lines of code onto any page, and every submission lands in a dashboard: encrypted, searchable, with email, Slack, webhook, and mobile push delivery on top.

Contact Form 7

Contact Form 7 is a free WordPress plugin. You install it, configure a shortcode-style form, and it emails submissions to whoever you list. It does one thing well: a contact form on WordPress that emails you.

At a glance

A fair side-by-side: what's in the box, what isn't.

Where they really differ

WordPress-only vs. any website

Contact Form 7 only runs inside a WordPress install. Toimii's web component drops into WordPress just as easily, but it also works on Squarespace, Webflow, Wix, Shopify, a static site, a hand-rolled HTML page, or a React app. Same two lines of code, any host. If you ever move off WordPress, your forms move with you.

Email delivery is on us, not on you

Contact Form 7 doesn't send the email itself. It hands the message to WordPress, which hands it to whatever email setup your hosting provider has. To make that reliable, most site owners end up adding an SMTP plugin and signing up with a separate delivery service like SendGrid or Mailgun, plus pointing the DNS records correctly. A real stack to assemble, and a real responsibility to keep working. With Toimii, the email vendor is us. Sending infrastructure, deliverability monitoring, retries on failure: all part of the subscription. Nothing to wire up, nothing to learn.

A ticket number on every submission: proof it landed

When someone fills in a Toimii form, the submission is saved to your dashboard and given a unique ticket reference before anything else happens: before email is attempted, before any notification goes out. The ticket exists in your records the moment the visitor clicks Send. From there the notification can travel by email, Slack, a generic webhook, or as a push to the Toimii mobile app. Even if every channel fails, the submission can't disappear. It's already in the database, you can find it in the dashboard, and the customer can quote the reference. With Contact Form 7, the submission's only real existence is the email message itself.

One tool vs. a plugin stack

Contact Form 7 is a form plugin. Once you need bookings you add Bookly. For NPS, another plugin. For ordering, another. Each plugin is a separate vendor, a separate upgrade cadence, and a separate compatibility risk. Toimii ships contact, booking, NPS, ordering, and a pricing calculator as one connected product on a single subscription.

Spam handling, built in

CF7 doesn't ship spam protection by default. You bolt on Akismet, a CAPTCHA, a honeypot plugin, and tune the rules over time. Toimii's spam filtering is built in, updated as patterns shift, and surfaces flagged submissions in the dashboard so you can recover real leads that got caught.

Change the form yourself, no WordPress login needed

Every CF7 form change starts with logging into WordPress, finding the form, and editing CF7's shortcode-style template. Then you also update the mail template so any new field shows up in the notification email. With Toimii the visual editor lives in your dashboard. Add a field, reorder, toggle required on or off, enable file uploads (hosting and storage included), edit the notification email, and ship the change live. The kinds of edits that used to mean a careful WordPress admin session (break the mail template and submissions silently lose data) are now a quick self-serve from the same place you read the submissions.

Zero maintenance vs. plugin upkeep

Every WordPress update carries a small chance that a plugin breaks on activation. CF7's customization lives in shortcodes and add-on plugins, all of which need ongoing care. Toimii's hosted bundle auto-updates from our CDN. The script tag on your page never changes; new features and fixes land without you touching anything.

Pick Toimii if…

You want your contact form to live on your site (WordPress or not), every submission stored in a dashboard with an audit trail, and one tool that covers bookings, NPS, and ordering. Not five plugins from five vendors on five different update schedules.

Pick Contact Form 7

You're running a WordPress site, a single contact form is all you need, and you're comfortable managing Akismet, spam plugins, and the occasional broken upgrade. CF7 is free, stable, and earns its reputation.

Frequently asked

Does Toimii work on WordPress?

Yes, using the WordPress Block Editor or the Classic Editor's Custom HTML block, no plugin install required. See the WordPress embed guide for the exact steps.

Is Toimii a WordPress plugin?

No. Toimii is a hosted web component that lives on a CDN we run. You embed two lines of code; we ship updates from our side. Nothing to install, nothing to update.

Will it match my WordPress theme?

Yes. The component uses Shadow DOM, so your theme's CSS can't leak in and break the styling. Colors, fonts, and rounded-corner preferences come from the visual editor, not from your stylesheet.

I'm running CF7 fine. What would make me switch?

For a single form on a WordPress site, CF7 works fine. It's free and stable. The real question is what happens when a submission doesn't arrive. With CF7 you usually find out from the lost customer, not from any log. Toimii writes every submission to the database with a ticket number the moment Send is clicked, before any email is attempted. That audit trail exists whether you're running one form or five tools. Booking, NPS, and ordering in the same subscription are extra reasons to switch, but the audit trail alone is worth the conversation.

Doesn't CF7 just send the email itself?

Not reliably, no. CF7 hands the message to WordPress, and WordPress hands it to whoever runs your site's email. For that to work end-to-end, most CF7 sites also need an SMTP plugin and a separate delivery service wired up correctly. With Toimii, email delivery is part of what you pay for. Nothing to configure on your side.
